9%Ni steel is a type of low carbon medium alloy quenched and tempered steel with Martensite and Bainite structure. It offers good toughness and high strength at very low temperature and small thermal expansion coefficient, it’s characterized by high nickel content, high purity, high strength, high low-temperature impact toughness and good weldability. The steel can be used at the lowest temperature lower than -196℃, making it widely used in the manufacture of LNG tank and transport ships, is the best of the cryogenic environment using the toughness of materials.
